Graduate in Electronic Engineering, Salvatore Pinto, 1957, has built an international career within major corporations such as Telecom Italia, Pirelli and Olivetti before joining the energy group EGL in 2005 as President. In EGL, later rebranded as Axpo Italia, he held the positions of both President and Chief Executive Officer from 2009 to 2016.
A long-time advocate of research in the field of renewable energy, he founded and chaired Green Energy Storage in 2016, a startup dedicated to developing innovative energy storage systems.
Since 2005, he has also served as President in other companies within the Axpo Group in Italy, including Calenia Energia S.p.A., Rizziconi Energia S.p.A., Axpo Gas Service Italia S.r.l., Axpo Energy Solutions Italia S.p.A. (formerly Energy Plus S.p.A.), and Axpo Servizi Produzione Italia S.p.A.
For Axpo Italia S.p.A., he currently holds specific responsibilities in the areas of Institutional & Regulatory Affairs and Country Corporate Communication.
Among his current roles, he is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Italy, President of the Energia Libera Association, as well as founder and President of Skyres (Venture Capital Company) and Green Energy Storage Srl.
In the past, he has held positions such as Chairman of TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline Italy), a member of the Board of Directors of Anasin, Vice President of Esoa (the European Satellite Operators Association), and a member of the supervisory board of Eutelsat, as well as the Galileo Satellite Consortium.
