Bianca Maria Colosimo is full professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering – Politecnico di Milano (Italy), where she is leading research activities in the field of data science for advanced manufacturing. She is Head of the Scientific Committee of the PNRR project MICS – Made in Italy Circular and Sustainable. She is Member of the Support group of the EU platform Manufuture, Member of the topical team on 3D bioprinting of the European Space Agency (ESA), Member of the Board of Director of MADE, one of the Competence Centers on Industry 4.0.
Her main research interest is in the area of intelligent and sustainable manufacturing, where big data science is used to optimize, control and monitor advanced manufacturing processes (additive manufacturing and bioprinting, among all) to foster the twin transition (enhancing the digital side of manufacturing to achieve green, zero-waste manufacturing).
